The Sudbury Game and Fish Protective Association is bringing indoor fishing to a new location! After years at the mall, from March 7th to March 16th we will have the “John Hazen Memorial Fishpond” at the Lockerby Legion. Branch 564 – 2200 Long Lake Rd, Sudbury. (9 am to 9 pm / on March 16th ends at 12 pm)
Bring the kids and create lifelong memories for the little ones. Come to relive your own memories and show them how it is done. This rainbow trout pond is our club’s main fundraiser. The proceeds from this event are used to maintain club property and for various conservation projects in the community. SGAF Promotes catch and release. However, that’s not to say that you can’t take a trout home for dinner. This is a perfect outing, for kids and family. They will be over 750 Hungry fish placed in the 21-foot pool. So come on out and try to get the difficult “big one” out of the pool. This year we are bring back catch and release the tagged fish and win $100.
Our ideals and goals will be proudly passed on to our children and their children after them.
After the March break, the pond is taken down, and the remaining fish are removed and brought to a local lake approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources. The tanks with aerators are available to local community organizations where there is a need to transport live fish.
P.S. We accept and are looking for volunteers who want to put their hours on the sign-up sheet. For those students who need volunteer hours documented. Please call Charles at 249 360 6202
