The Peter Schneider Concert Series has been a highlight of Greater Sudbury’s summer, filling Bell Park with free, live music every Sunday evening. From June through August, the vibrant sounds of local and seasoned musicians have delighted audiences of all ages. With an eclectic list of performers every Sunday at 7 p.m, the concerts have become a beloved tradition for the Greater Sudbury community to come together and enjoy the magic of live music.
The Peter Schneider Concert Series is named in honour of Peter Schneider, a cherished local music educator and multi-talented instrumentalist who established the festival in 1996. Fondly referred to as “Mr. Music,” Schneider dreamed of creating a community event that would highlight the scenic beauty of Bell Park and unite people through the joy of music.

June 1 Nickel 64 – KBG
Nickel 64, a dynamic musical collaboration, brings together virtuoso violinist Rob Patterson and skilled guitarist Dave Carlson. With a decade of harmonious partnership, they craft mesmerizing instrumental performances spanning classical to contemporary genres. Nickel 64, known for their musical finesse, specializes in customizing selections for weddings and special events.
June 8 Emma and Jamie – KBG
Emma originates from Northern Ontario. Her music is reflective through her life experiences. Crafting her own stylings on classic jazz, rock, blues and folk, she captivates crowds and speaks with a purpose. Jamie, from New Liskeard is best known for his arrangements on the harp guitar, gaining recognition around the globe on YouTube.
June 15 Cumbia en Sudbury – KBG
Cumbia en Sudbury is a traditional Colombian cumbia percussion group made up of self-taught musicians of all ages. Their instruments are handcrafted and brought directly from Colombia, adding authentic sound and spirit to every performance. Through vibrant rhythms and cultural heritage, Cumbia en Sudbury brings the energy of cumbia to life for all audiences to enjoy.
June 22 The Dustcovers – KBG
The Dustcovers is an acoustic act from Sault Ste. Marie playing a mix of original music and covers in their own unique style. Putting off their musical ambitions for many years, the husband and wife duo decided to start performing again in 2024. Alyssa and Tom perform across Northern Ontario at various venues, festivals and events and recently released their debut EP titled “Citriculture.”
June 29 Eric Cloutier – McNaughton Terrace
Eric Cloutier is a powerhouse solo performer; known for his incredible voice and the raw energy he brings to the stage. With just a guitar, a stomp drum and his commanding presence, he fills the room with the sound and soul of a full band. His performances are a masterclass in musical storytelling, honest, immersive- and deeply human.
July 13 Rose-Erin Stokes – ESG
Highlighted by an artistic acumen and an amazing ability to evoke emotion, Stokes’ music, words and vocal performances connect to the hearts and spirits of all who hear them. Stokes is a five-time Northern Ontario Music and Film Award nominee. Her Sophomore LP “When The Sun Goes Away” earned her a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2024 Ontario Folk Music Awards.
July 20 Swing Fever Octet – KBG
The swing fever Octet, founded by the late Peter Schneider, has been entertaining Sudbury are for more than 30 years. They play a mix of well-known tunes from the big band era, ballroom rhythms and popular covers, for a beautiful evening of music under the stars. A perennial favourite of the Peter Schneider Concert Series, Swing Fever has proudly carries on Peter’s legacy by offering a fun, family-friendly dance each year since the concert series began.
July 27 Twenty One – GHA
Based in Sudbury, these seasoned musicians create a powerfully energetic musical experience for their audience. They honed their skills in projects such as the Evolutionary Band, tribute bands and a wide variety of local bands. They have built a well-rounded, fun and engaging repertoire of songs that will get folks of all ages singing along and tapping their feet.
August 3 Outlaw Country – WBG
Rod Bazinet is a contemporary icon on the Sudbury music scene. He’s been performing for three decades, playing tribute to the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elton John, Willie Nelson, and Jake Blues. Rod’s combination of acoustic guitar and piano provides a delightful journey through music and stories.
August 17 The Frogs – KBG
Ce soir, on danse! This hard-hitting power trio will keep you on your toes with enough music to wear out your dancing shoes. Blending pop, rock, country, blues, pop-punk, funk and more, this band will have you jumping to their tight grooves and soaring harmonies.
August 24 Cass and Jack – KBG
Cassandra and Jack met at a talent show in 2021, where they were competing with their respective rock bands-Restored and Pop Mach!ne. Since then, they’ve been jamming acoustic music together, performing at various venues and events around the Sudbury area. Cass and Jack love the challenge of trying to cover multiple genres of music with just two acoustic guitars and vocals.
